Allison Seavey, M.S.W., L.C.S.W.
Allison originally began working with Vista in 2005 as a Substance Abuse Counselor and has had the opportunity to work with clients and families at multiple Vista programs. She then decided to get her Masters in Social Work at the University of Utah, which gave her the opportunity to work in community mental health. She continued at an adolescent residential program as a therapist for individuals with a wide variety of diagnoses including anxiety, bi-polar disorders, depression, OCD, psychosis and trauma. Allison volunteered extensively for The Rape Recovery Center, which provides support to victims of sexual trauma and abuse, participating with both the hospital response team and the crisis hotline.
Allison’s style is direct and compassionate; one that utilizes Motivational Interviewing in addition to strong Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This allows her to create an authentic relationship that can challenge clients to overcome maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors that continue to interrupt their success. When Allison is not at Vista Counseling Services she can be found at a local family practice residency teaching physicians how to incorporate accurate mental health diagnoses and treatment into their practice.
